I like it too. If it really takes off (like I think it will) then maybe it will resurge some interest in developing V-twins. The 1200 Storm might not be far away.

Alan,
I've been reading up on the Duc 1098 myself and YES it does look the dogs IMO, but it would be no good for you, you would get bored with it to quick :!: I mean what could you do to customise it :?:

Kitch,
I hope you're right 8)

yellowtrev,
That sounds like a good plan to me :!: :D

Toby,
I like the £4.50

Gorgeous bike...light and powerful too. I find it intersting how a small company like Ducati can make a V-twin that can apparently go toe to toe with the I-4 literbikes (and that Honda, for example, has chosen to abandon that line of development). Kudos to Ducati!!!!!

Absolutely fantastic I think. If I had the spare cash, then its one of the very few I'd trade in for.

As for a 1200 Storm, the Vardero still has the 996 engine, upgraded for Euro 3 so I can't see Honda making another engine.

The SP2 engine, with gear driven cams, given another 200 cc of bottom end grunt, now, that, in a rider friendly chassis, and a 21 litre tank, would be something!
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Depends how successful the new one make race series is...

No, not the Ducati 1000 Sport Cup, World Superbikes 2008.

We only have the SP1 so Honda could take on the Dukes, when the bored out R version of the 1098 hits the track, it's gonna cream everything.

It'll only be then that Honda after realising the blade is a fantastic road bike, but not so great as a race bike that they might bring the SP crew out of cryogenic stasis at HRC and make a 1200 SP3.

(aside: doesnt the SP already have gear cams?)

Yes, it does. I should have put " the SP2 engine, with its gear driven cams"

Kitch the 999 kicked everyones butt last year anyway (in the right hands ala Troy B & then look at the amazing efforts of Gregorio L if it wasnt for a run of bad luck Gregorio had this last season imo i dont think Honda would of one BSB, Gregorio (again) or Leon would be champ
