Ive got a bluemedia destinator 3 mounted on my bike, and never leave home without it.... its mounted to a bracket which is fastened under the two front tank mounting bolts, and it sits over the top yoke, just clearing everything.

Perfect, dont know bout the one you were asking about though.

I have a TomTom Go 500 that is superb in the car so I was thinking of using it in the clear part of the top of a tank bag etc. Would need to get a 12v feed to it but no big deal for that.
Anyone else used this model?

LEGAL NOTICE!

Its really not very legal to install the tomtom software on your phone/PDA so if you dont want copied software stop reading! For those that do:

1) You have to have a 3G equiped phone that uses an operating system to run. Phones such as the latest nokias and 3g range of motorolas (using symbian os) will work fine. Most high end PDA's (personal data organiser) will also be able to run the software.

2) Tomtom and other nav software works using satalites and a GRPS signal. Most phones are unlikelly to have a GRP reciever built in, and oftern if they do its poor quality and oftern drops the signal. For this reason 90% of people using pda based satnav will buy a secondary GRPS bluetooth reciever (these can be fund on ebay for under £30)

3) Next you have to find a copy of the software, to name a few:

"Route66"
"navman"
"TomTom"
"NHgps"

I'm not going to link to any download sites for these programs as its not legal and not fair on the board! Please do not ask, use google and some intelligence! Hint hint *russian ftp servers*

3) Once you have the software you will need to install it on the phone, this is easy and normally done via a usb cable (or smart card if your phone has one). Most install files for 3g OS will be in the .SIS format, simply drag and drop the file onto the phone and it should auto install! Im not writing exact instructions as each phone/pda is different, lots of advice can be found here:

http://www.3g.co.uk and http://www.aussie3g.com

4) Once installed you need to add a map (normally downloadable in the same place, although these are free all over the internet now!)

5) Aquire a GPRS signal so that the software can pin point you and your ready to go!

if you need any advice or help feel free to PM me! Why spend £300 on a tomtom when you can download it for free!

Oo0o0o0o0o and if anybody knows how to get the speedcam updates working on a symbian installed version do please let me know! :D
