Yes its an oil cooler. It is protected by a stone guard. It looks a bit of an add-on (and is, the earlier carb. version of the bike didn't have one). Its ugly IMO.LotusSevenMan wrote:What's the black box fitted low down at the front of the engine? Not an oil cooler surely?

Had one on my dyno last year, what a gas... 2002 model
Only 75BHP but 60 Ft/lb and 53 Ft/LB at only 3000RPM
Reved to 6936 for max BHP and Max torque at 5382 rpm.
Lucky lucky man, and when you blip the throttle it rocks and I mean rocks....
I recon if you take off fast you will be in the oncoming lane before you know it :-)
