VTR Pringle! Once you pop you cant't stop

Post by streetf2 »

One little job ended up leaving my bike looking like this.Three months into the work and i still cant see the end.I thought the bike needed an under seat exhaust and motorcross bars,But i didnt want the pipes outside the swing arm! Nobody made these so as a fabricator/welder thats easy i make it myself yer right! one month gone down pipes re routed and come together facing upwards through the swing arm, then i realise where i want the pipes and cans, well the sub frame is in the way, so lets make a new sub frame and make it smaller and shallower from the side,Great i thought that will look cool. Now all i have to do is find a new home for the battery as it will stick down and out of new sub frame. Then change plastics and make undertray,Now im in the place where everything is one off and cant be brought and so on and so on!.Two months in and its time to take it all apart for polish and paint the end in sight no way! frame and swing arm polished what a job took god damn ages. Tank and modified rear plastics front bikini fairing and front fender to the painters lets start putting it back together. No i cant put that thing back on it polish it and that and thatand so on.Just like a pack of pringles once you start you cant stop just like me then good job i missed loads out just hope i can put it back together again and get it tunned with my pipe.Hope it was all worth it and will not do or attempt anything like this ever again no wonder no one made one .

Now the way you have done your pipe work for the exhaust sounds ace to me, I look forward (when it's all finished) to see a pic :!: As long as you have it ready for the summer that's the main thing, keep at it, you will be glad you made all the effort when it's finished 8)

Good for you!!! It'll be one of those kinda jobs that when finished you'll say "Hard work but worth it!" whereas at the moment all you can do is go "Mutter grumble, bast*rd bike etc" under your breath!!!!! 8O
