Calling all speed freaks

Post by beckster »

Found this wee gadget and thought anyone wanting to prove their top speed would like it,seems to be about£50 cheaper than anywhere else.

Yeah they'd love it,but i don't think it would be too hard to conceal on the bike.

I think the trouble with this device is the below statement.

"Recalls maximum speed on your bike's speedometer"

So it shows how fast your speedo thinks it got to but not your actual speed (as a GPS would).

OK if you have had your std 'Storm speedo modified, but it is 'out' to start with and by the time sprocket changes occur etc you are likely to be a fair bit out. Good for bar room racing chat I guess.

A good pushbike speedo (Sigma BC1600 etc) will do this max speed reached bit too and store it but as it can be calibrated to the front wheel for actual distance travelled it is very accurate.

Thanks for the link though.

I already have a speedo healer calibrated with my garmin sat nav,so it's going to be accurate, besides, the police over here don't have the same vendetta against bikers as they do on the mainland
