Thats more like it - Remus to the rescue

Post by MrMastodon »

Morning VTR people,

Since getting my VTR last summer, I have to admit I have been quite disappointed with the engine. I know this might be a controversial statement to make round here, but there you go.

Felt strangled and unresponsive. Most unhappy. Since it's mainly for commuting, I put up with it although I really wanted to get another (TL??!!) bike instead (but no money meant this wasn't an option!). I was a brave soldier and carried on.

But, a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get permission from the SWMBO to purchase a pair of naughty Remus Grand Prix high level (ish) cans from our very own TMation.

It's sooooooooo much better - responsive and feels much more pokey. Before, I'd crack the throttle open and it'd baulk and think about it a moment before picking up pace when it felt like it. And then it wasn't much to write home about.

But now - responsive and lovely. It now feels like I imagined it would! I used to get frustrated EVERY single ride on it, but now, I take the long way home every day! It really has transformed the bke and how I feel about it.

Why does it make soo much difference then? I know it should liberate a bit, but the difference is astonishing (and I don't use that word lightly. I can barely spell it). Reading about changing cans on here, all I read was the difference in noise (which is considerable!) but no-one really mentioned the wholesome goodness it'd do to the engine.

Just rung up Bennetts to tell them of the change (belatedly) and they only charge an admin fee for the new paperwork! £20 though.

Super.

Right - I'll go back to lurking now I've got that off my chest!

Told Bennetts about my new cans and they said it was not an issue,no extra!

Told them about the aftermarket bellypan and they came back and said the underwriters were not happy 8O

My options were

not fit the bellypan
change underwriters policy at a cost of £30 admin
fit it and not say anything until renew policy in June.

Cannot believe a bellypan affects insurance, its cosmetic not performance enhancing :x

Ah, another Horace Rumpole fan? My hero.

The difference between a well balanced, free breathing Storm and a strangulated asthmatic one is huge.

Kylie and Anne Widdecombe are both women, after all, but there is a difference.

Anne is simpy GORGEOUS.

I'll get me coat...........................

Oh go on - you'll be telling me you don't find Clarissa Richard Wright (the remain of the Two Fat "Ladies") attractive either
