Discrimination!
Discrimination!
Stopped for fuel this morning on the way to work, 1st on the forecourt had to wait 5 mins for the lady to open up. Topped it up & then went in to pay, " Oh by the way we've been asked by managment to say next time you come in will you please take your helmet off befor coming in to pay" says the lady on the till. "OK" says me, " I understand why, can you let your managment know that I will no longer be buying my fuel from you."
OK its only a tenners worth, but it's the principle 'init!
Fools! Dont they know it's a Storm & I have to fill it up every other day!
By the way this was a Tescos gas station in Rainham, Essex. I for one will not be stopping there again, but I dont suppose that my boycot will affect their takings much will it!
Then again thers an Asda donw the road a bit & you dont even have to get off your bike to fill up or pay!
Mac.

Oh don't get me wrong I can see their point of veiw, however I'm not going to take off my helmet to pay for fule. I have used that fuel staion on many occasions, so my reg is on plenty of cctv footage. (this station has something like 6 cameras pointing at the shop front alone, hmmm maybe it's a hot spot then!)
As I said it's the principal of the matter & I have the choice of spending my dosh where I want.
On the other hand, If I was going to rob the place I woudn't park on the forecourt anyway, cctv again + the exit of this station is the most stupid layout I have ever seen & involves you doing two U turns to get back to the road.

the soapbox is now vacant, whos next?

Couldn't agree more mate, we as a nation are so wrapped in the civil liberties of the minorities that we are forgetting the rights of the majority!!VeetyR wrote:nah i dont think they would......but if i was the clerk i would just talk through the gap in the night pay box and see how she likes it.
It would appear that i am on the soapbox now....
I'll get my coat.

It's a big thing here. Have to remove your helmet before entering any shop. Bugs me because I have long hair & although I get to do the cool, swishy thing every time I take my helmet off, it's bugging doing the whole tucking bizzo before being able to take off again. Servos should have little windows like a drive-through so you can pay without going inside.
I agree with the "racist"

If you ate yourself would you become twice as big or simply disappear?
I always take my lid off when filling up. It seems to be fairly standard practice around here.
However some garages are now insisting that I get off the bike when filling up. This is a really stupid rule. Either I can't fill the tank properly or I fill it to the brim whilst holding the bike up straight. I then have to replace the nozzle and close the lid with one hand. I've stopped using these garages.

Chris, whilst I understand where you are coming from, this rather contradicts the original post which claimed we WERE being persecuted as a minority!Couldn't agree more mate, we as a nation are so wrapped in the civil liberties of the minorities that we are forgetting the rights of the majority!!
If they can see you have got off a bike then I would object to remove my helmet, but I've never been asked!
Also, I would never fill up sitting on the bike. For one thing it could be hazardous in the event of fire and if you fill to the brim, you can get an airlock anyway.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Are you saying Kaz that you've actually done a couple of armed robberies (but that it gets easier the more you do)? Eeekkkkbut once you 've been through a couple of armed robberies... peoples faces being covered up.. either by scarves.. balaclavas or motorcycle helmets .. does put your heart back in your mouth.. and it's not a nice feeling ( speaking from experience here)

"Only ride as fast as your guardian angel can fly" !!!
Ah, bit of a worm of cans i've opened there it would seem. Some interesting responses too. This has happend to me before, pulled up, opened the cap, picked up the nozel & waited. Waited some more. Wa...you get the picture. Lokked over to the till person & they made a 'take your lid off motion'....I put the nozel back & left the forecourt to get me fuel somewhere else. Never went back in there, car or bike.
Twice in about a year I suppose I will be ok for another few years before I run out of fuel stations I can use!
Then I put the news on & saw the stuff about contaminated petrol from.................TESCOS!

Is it me or do they look like their posing in front of something that could easily be turned into a makeshift gallows?? - Perhaps it was Saddams groupies posing for a last shot for the album ??
Apologies if my sense of humour offends...but I'm getting sick of the liberal, non discrimination, politically correct world we are expected to conform to 24/7.......who said they could make the rules up
Sorry rant over
