Both
Not very helpful was it
If you look at the carbs from the right hand side as you sit on the bike you can see two breather pipes between the two carbs. These are the ones you are after.
so what needs doing exactly? ive got a bitch of a problem with it stalling under ferrocious braking and cant make out the pic . is it basicly turning them from inner facing to outer facing?
Yes
the pipe is bent through 90 degrees to enter the carb brackets in std trim and can pinch and make a vapour lock. Basically you are just letting them hang so they dont bend and cause a blockage
Ok i have pulled out the 2 smaller breathers 1 from left and 1 from right carb brackets.......These were the 2 smaller ones rubber banded together between the carbs and left them hanging down....i take it this is right??
also....they are quite long......can i trim them without affecting the carburation?? i just dont want em to foul on anything under there.
That's the ones Job Done!
I never heard of anyone having a problem trimming them down, I can't see why not.
I do know It doesn't always cure the problem so why don't you wait a bit and see before you chop em up it iddy biddy pieces
Wish this was 'up' when I had the bike in bits recently!!!!!!!
Only put the tank back on today (and it ran. Hurrah).
Can this 'mod' be done in situ without taking lotsa stuff off (too dark tonight to see this breather etc) ?

If you don't have the engine stalling LSM after very hard braking then I wouldn't worry about it
