Quick help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Hanuman »

Just returned from having my tyres replaced, went to brake for the slip road off the A1 and the front went like a bucking bronco.

LH Caliper is hanging off, need to find out what else is missing B4 I ring M&S on West Gate Hill - Newcastle.

I recall a large spilt thru the centre axle type thingymebob on the l/h side of the wheel where it is fastened thru the fork.

Can any one confirm what's missing or provide me with a pic of their l/h side of front wheel

thanks

Service van is on it's way to replace missing parts, with a massive apology from the service manager.

Like Alan says, you should get your tyre free at least! Glad your OK.

Bloody hell!! Thats the worst bit of mechanicing I think I've ever seen!

Freind of mine died through a faulty front brake installation. You were lucky and so were M&S.

I vote for crucifixtion too.

I'd want to know what they'd have done if you came off and rolled under a truck.

(probably denied it)

it's actually our biggest main bike dealer in Newcastle/Durham Pete.
there used to be other bike shops up the 'hill' as we refer to it... but I believe M&S have bought most of these guys out now.

A guy turned up yesterday afternoon on a new Tiger and fitted the missing bolt and tightened the other which was about to fall out  , I believe he was the mech who changed the tyre.. maybe.. I got a bunch full of apologies - anyway it's sorted now and best to thank fate and carry on.

At least they sat up and took notice.

i dont trust garages as far a i can throw them i like to take out the wheel and replace the wheel myself as iam a little picky to how the brakes are fitted and the pistons in the calipers are centred to the disk as i had a 125 once and the front brake was only just working since then the garage only fits the tyres i do the rest also i check all the bolts to make sure they are tight never had a problem since :D
wheres the road kill............?
iam hungry!!!!!
