Just been out for a bit of a blast in the Peaks. All in the name of science I have discovered that a 98 VTR is just as quick as a 99 GSXR750. But that the Gixxer has to work much harder to do it. All i could hear was his sewing machine howling it's tits off ahead of me as I thundered along behind him.
All real world speeds of course. I expect that anything over the ton would have seen him get away but at usable speeds, I can't imagine ever going back to a four.
Unless it was a big one of course.........
Storm vs. GSXR 750

Monkey!
I may be mad but at least I'm not dead. Yet. And long may that be so.

When I tried a GXSR thou I was very impressed, but on the roads I like to ride (B roads preferably) I couldn't go any quicker on the GSXR than the Storm and even at then on the thou I had to change gears more to avoid flat spots.
I am quite happy getting up to 120 on the Storm - on a GSXRthou/R1 etc thats just when the power seems to come in and it draws you on, on and oops..........................

Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

I borrowed a mates 929 blade around 6 months ago...I know, a blade
It did everything well, but nothing brilliant. Up to 120/130 the power and speed were very similar to the storm. But after that it was ballistic by comparison. Silly.
As a riders bike it far to boring for me though. I much prefer the storm, sooo much more fun and for general quick road riding its a good as the next.
Needless to say, I wont be buying a 929...or any blade

Alright Bob.
Yeah do get up to squires now and then. Not been for a while though. My bikes been off the road for the last few weeks. Been fitting some blade forks...would have had the job done within a few hours, but ran into a few problems!
Got them sorted though and the only thing that I need to do now is finish painting the new mudguard.
Hope to see you up their at some point. Ill keep my eyes peeled!!! Mines teal/aqua blue coloured, Y reg. High level carbon can co oval exhausts and blade forks...obviously!
Cheers
