Rear shock...

Afternoon all.

Ive just finished replacing the forks on my storm with some blade forks and very nice they are too!

TBH my rear shock is ready for a rebuild/refurbishment or direct replacement. Ive been looking at the options and really cant afford to go in to Ohlins territory. I like the look of the Hagon shocks for the money and im considering fitting one-

This particular model is about Â£250 and for an extra Â£120 you can have a remote adjuster fitted.

I just wondered if anyone currently uses a Hagon rear shock or has any experience using them? Is it worth having the remote adjuster fitted? Are they good VFM?

I dont do trackdays, so it would be for road use. Ive done a search for previous posts, but just wondered if anyone else had any thoughts/info to add?

Unless you're doing track work, or vary between solo and 2 up riding, I can't see the point of remote adjusters.

Get it set, leave it alone... works well enough and saves Â£120

I would agree with Kitch on the Â£120 for the remote adjuster, also it's not so easy for kids to mess with the settings

Stratman is the man to ask, as he's had one for ages

Price inc postage and adjusting spaners to UK in my latest Hagon price list (Nov '06) is 255ukp with 125ukp for the pre-load external adjuster.
Part number is M61093.

Yup yup yup. Had one for ages - just had it rebuilt by them actually. Personally, I can't fault it and you'll notice such a difference from the stock one - you actually get suspension that moves!

I think the standard unit would move again with the weight I have become over winter! Trouble is, sausages taste better than muesli!

Will do LSM. Like I say, ive only just finished my fork conversion. Not had a run on the bike yet with the forks on, but I will this weekend!

Going to try and get the rear shock ordered in the next couple of weeks. Should have it fitted within no time. Once its all done I'll post the pictures
