Insurance
Well sunny Scotland has got something going for it, no fixed spped cameras, the old bill post each month on the internet where all the mobile cameras are going to be, great just plan your journey accordinly!!
Even better 40 years old (old git) no NCB and £220 fully comp with £300 excess, (Bennetts) they even threw in cover for £1000 extras (cans, lowers) and puncture assistance. Sounded pretty good to me
Wahoo

I wish I could get quotes like those.
My best quote was £1050, TPO!
I had 3 insurance companies put the phone down on me when they had asked both my age and the bike to be insured.
I did expect that to be honest though, not many people took me seriously when I said I was getting a 1000cc bike at 18!

Erm, yes officer, it is restricted... honest ;)Fireman on a Storm wrote:1000 at 18 or 600 at 18
You can only have 33bhp so any bike would have to be restricted anyway?????????
I tell you what, the other bike forum I visit regularly has a lot of people on there about my age, who have steadily passed their test, moved up to a 400/600 or whatever, and a very small percentage of them actually leave their bike restricted!

I do a bit of instructing in my spare time, and have heard of a few 33bhp riders who have taken thier restricers out.
Like at any other time if you use some sense when riding and don't draw attention to your self and only go for it when it's safe, the chances of getting caught are slim.
Just be very carefull if you make an insurance claim.
If they inspect your bike and find no restricters your claim and insurance will be void.
A final word of advice that I give to all new riders is GET SOME FURTHER TRAINING it could save your life.
PS enjoy the bloody STORM

cheap old fart
hi, TPFT............£ 147 BUT I'M AN OLD FART AT 46..

£120 TPFT, 40 with full no claims through Devitt insurance services, romford 01708 385566. But its under written by Red Star and they are awful to pay out for anything.
Alarm or any form of security didn't make any difference ! other than a garage, so will jsut fit an imobiliser rather than full alarm.
