hi ive had probs with reg/rec and battery, finally(i hope ) got it sorted, but i was running the bike at about 4 thou revs when i heard a strange slight knocking banging noise coming from the starter motor area and it seemed like the bike was going to stop, took revs off and she ticked over and revved ok. tried to hold revs on again and once again heard the knocking and banging from bottom engine area. does this sound like it could be cam chain as ive never had any probs with ccts before and dont know wot sounds i would be getting. i thought ccts would rattle rather than bang and knock. any ideas anyone thnx, Ian
Ian when they start to go it usually is a rattle (unless they fail completely without warning like mine did) then the sound is like your knackers been clanked together at high velocity,and the sound would be there on tickover.
Does it almost sound like someone is thumping the underside of the fuel tank?
I've had that before, from what i've found on here it's a fairly common thing on the storm, found a remedity for this, i think on here will have a look for it again later on.
