No, recently had the bike deresrticted and the old ones were soiled bad from 2 years of restriction. Mechanic changed them but didnt have the correct type in so used some others (did the job but not running to 100%)

Said I just needed some new ones so I bought iridiums and tried to change them but it ran worse with them in :? bought another set just incase it was a faulty pair but no joy.

Looked in the manual and bought the type it recommended (not iridiums) ran even worse.

£50 on plugs and still no joy -.-

Check the connections in the lug caps and check the leads. Sounds like the electrical/ignition system is breaking down under load as Sirch (Chris) suggets. I had all sorts of grief tracking down (no pun intended) what turned out to be a split plug cap rubber. £25 to Mr Honda and no probs. Try unscrewing the caps, cutting the HT lead back about half an inch then screwing the plug cap in again (you may need something like a bradawl to start the hole in the cable a bit). Then you will have a good connection. Check the plug leads and rubbers at the same time.

It may not be this, of course, but you have to start isolating a problem somehow!

No. Chris (Sirch) is correct.

The Scottoilers use vacuum to pull open the diapraghm that then allow the oil to flow (which is why the oiler turns itself off when the engine stops). This though is only to operate it initially and once it is open and therfore operating all there is is just a constant pull with no additional vacuum 'flow'. A split in the fuel vacuum tap would cause a continuous leak/flow and therefore (possibly) create the said problem!!!

thusly, if a said scottoiler was unplugged, with the vacuum pipe exposed to the elements, i assume its not going to be good

If the Scotoiler was unplugged and the pipe left effectively open, the diaphragm wouldn't open at all.
