aftermarket shocks

Post by kevg »

i've been trying to fit my WP rear shock tonight and the banjo bolt for the hose to the remote reservoir seems to be fouling the battery box, any one else got one of these shocks fitted or a penske/ohlins that can maybe take a pic of the top of thiers to let me see what clearance there is in there, or if there has been a notch cut in the undertray to give it more room, or even if the banjo comes out the side, and not the back like mine is at the moment, i think if i turn the shock round so it faces forward the banjo will hit the engine.

Kev,
I had one fitted and had no problems with it fouling

I had the banjo facing FORWARDS -there's loads of clearance between it and the engine (once you get it in there obviously :D)
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!

Ben, i tried the shock on last night with the banjo pointing forwards but the hose for the remote reservoir was pointing in slightly the wrong direction and it wouldn't reach the left hand rail of the subframe. it would reach the right hand one with a struggle, but it was then pushing all the cables for the main loom and the battery into the shock. i'm gonna send it back today and get them to rotate the top collar and hopefully that will sort it, they will send it back to me next week along with my forks.
