GB Moto Bar Risers

Post by andy c »

Has anyone fitted these ?
I've just bought some and tried to fit them tonight.
Either i've got it wrong or they dont seem to fit very well.

you'll have to file the "lug" bolt to fit, it doesnt fit the corresponding cut out in the top yoke, I noticed that too, but it seems a design issue and considering the machining quality was done for a reason, most likely it's the smallest size bolt that threads in and provides a good hold.

Is that it?

I had to modify mine as the latest batch of socket caps bolts he has bought have larger heads than the originals.
I used a dremel to grind flats on them. They worked well for me.

This shows the bolt before grinding the two flats that are required on it.

And this is fitted

Does it cause a problem with the peg on the bars being a loose fit in the hole in the riser ?

not really, considering the official torque setting for handlebars is "fookin massive gorilla tight" it doesn't move.

It does mean that you have a few mm leaway to move the bars fore or aft a bit for fine adjustment before tightening them up!!!!!!!!!
