Noisey cans / legal cans compromise

Post by V-Thump »

Don't know if others agree but i've found myself stuck between two minds. Full race cans are too loud for mois and full legal cans are too soft for mois. I have Scorpion Race cans which ive repacked to no no avail they are great for out of town rideing but in town for commuting their really are too loud unless you crawl around like a Harley.

The best solution i've come too is to take the Scorpion baffle inserts and insert them in reverse i.e rather than insert them at the "outlet" try inserting them at the "inlet" to the race can. I had to bash them with a hammer to make them slightly "rounder" to fit in. The result is you still get the "vtwin boom" but it is less "raspy" and it doesn't pop or bang at all so no backfiring. Obviously the sound isn't as powerful as without the baffles but it is more refined and is certainly better than with the baffles in the outlets.

Riding in London I would say is when I need full noise the most.

Noise is safer in town HONEST

I run Road Legal Cans with baffles out....Do have to shut her down a bit through villages but thats only courtesey anyway.
Still better than a car full of Chavs with the Stereo booming out Rap or Whatever
