Head stock bearings

Post by jonacol »

Does anyone happen to have the correct bearing codes for replacement head stock bearings? I don't really want to pay Honda prices for bearings if poss.

I should have some old ones here somewhere, I'll see if I can get the numbers. I assume you are trying to source them thru BSL ??

Jon,
I have some old honda ones but i'm not sure if they are from my NC30 or the Storm. but the numbers on my tapers that are on the storm are
MCI stamped on the race with either 32005X on the small one and 32006JR on the large one. I am sure I tried to get them from BSL and one was awkward, cant remember which. if the small one is a problem let me know as I have a new small one here.

Thanks chaps, the wemoto price seemed reasonable enough so i went with that. Any tips for getting the old inner race off the steering stem?

flat blade screwdriver and work around, the enlarged diameter is only the length of the bearing not full stem length!!

I just played a little heat on it and it fell off. this does wreck the seal though.

Looks like I'll go carefully then. Bike sneaked through MOT last week but they aren't right. It'll be for sale when its sorted Max, if you know anyone who wants a good 'storm.
