Hi,
I've just bought my first VTR, its a 99 T in yellow.
However its come without an owners manual. Anyone know where I can get one from?
Secondly, the front forks bottom out very easily. Whats the best solution to this?
3rd(!), on the choke, should it lock in the open position? Mine doesn't.
4th (!!), the wheels are a bit naff in terms of finish. Like cars, can these be refurbed the same way or do they require special treatment??
Finally, I have a small backfire with running slowly through traffic changing down from second. Will the carbs just need balancing?
Mnay thanks
Paul

G'day Paul! Welcome to the deep end
I know nothing about bikes 'cept how to ride'm, so can't help you there. Give it an hour or so though. You won't be short of suggestions!
Or have a bit of a search around here. There are answers to just about everything Storm related.

If you ate yourself would you become twice as big or simply disappear?
Welcome aboard Paul.
Never mind the owners manual, get the workshop manual from the sticky at the top of the workshop section.
Pull out the choke and pull back the round, plastic cover. Theres a black nut underneath it. Tighten that and the choke will stop moving all on it's own.
Do you have aftermarket cans on? If theres any air getting sucked in through the joins in the pipes then that can give you backfires.
I'm off for another sleep now.

Welcome Paul
the forks on the storm are abit crap you could send them to Roger at Revolution Racing who will rework em, loads on here have and swear by him and say the results are amazing around 200 quid i think, or you could attempt it yourself new springs, better oil or you could do a fork swap from a different bike.
If its just the paint flaking off the wheels just get em powdercoated again.
