Biting the bullet - rogers gonna do my forks!

Post by bonerp »

Next problem is getting the buggers out! Don't have a front yoke stand or a centre stand.

Whats next best thing?

By the way if anyone has one that I could possibly borrow!? I'm in Swindon, Wilts.

Plan is to try to do it this weekend. Otherwise may have to bite the bullet again and buy one - then flog it on ebay!

Ideas?
thanks guys

Tie it to a tree in the garden (seriously a guy on the Speedzilla RC51 forum did this....hung his VTR from a tree branch and whipped the front off. Guess the Yanks don't have the crappy weather that we have)?

How about a couple of heavy duty eye anchor bolts into the garage walls and suspend from that? Abba stands are good as well (jack under the sump to lift the front up).
What about a couple of axle stands under the footpegs (take the pegs off and reverse them so they can't fold up), then a jack under the sump?

Paul, I think you've made a good decision there, getting Roger to up-grade your forks :!: 8)

A man after my own heart.
That's my favorite spot for frontend work on mine at the mo. I've got a Firestorm stand I could have lent you if I'd seen your post earlier  It doesn't fit the SP so It's kind of redundant at the mo. let me know if you need a lend next time.
Ps. Good move withthe "Rogering" I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.
