desperately trying to FINALLY get my knee down today, I managed it ( 8) ) and also had the right footpeg down. There was a HUUUGE skkrrrsshhh when I did it, much louder than i expected. Went to my mate's house to tell him the good news - he pointed out the scuff marks on my right-hand silencer and engine casing 8O

Image

I swear the scuffs weren't there before today. Did I really ground these out? Shouldn't I have crashed? Can I get my femurs made longer on the NHS?

I know, I've seen people get their knee down with a lot less lean, I think I'm hanging off wrong, I need to stick my knee out rather than down.

Try to get your head as close the the wingmirror when your leaning off the bike, it will help get the correct body postion. You shouldnt have to throw your knee out that far provided you have dropped your elbow correctly.

try a search on here for knee down...

To be fair race bikes have far far stickier tyres than road bikes, so don't expect the same grip with road tyres :!:

WICKED photo chris!!!

That said, i got my elbow down at the phizer section on wednesday. Im running stock suspension (ive not changed it since i bought it) and BT014's. Its more about body postion than just tyres i feel?

It might be green, but then the Stobart VentAxia CBR1000RR Honda Fireblades have been that colour all season!!!!!!
Don't you watch the BSB championship?

As I guess you don't I'll point out that this pic is of Shane 'Shakey' Byrne.

Aye Lad, I'll give you that. Was referring to the next picture really.

Wasn't there a French bloke who used to get his elbow down in the late 80's? Not Christian Sarron (?), but someone of that era...

Someone help me - I'll never sleep until I get the name...
