Hi all,
Just invested in a Shoei Z one, brilliant helmet but mists in cold. I will need to fit an insert, always used Fog city proshield before and never had problems. Has anyone used the pinlock system? sounds good but I hear that rain can get between the pinlock and visor inside face?
I use a Foggy face mask. They can be difficult to locate exactly but once in properley is excellent. I tried the Fog City but I just couldn¬t get used to it and it seemed to defract light when I had my glasses on.
I've got a z-one brilliant helmet comfey quiet etc until theres a hint of dampness in the air! then I want to put a sledge hammer to it sodding thing mists up (on the left side only its perfect on the right ) can't see a thing and its driving me fu@/#ng mad.
Ehh... haven't used either of these products. I like riding with my visor fully open or open just a few mm. I use Plexus on both sides of it, and it *tends* to stop it fogging up, and also helps the water slide off the outside. However, the biggest benefit is it helps to get rid of all the little scratches that defract the light (esp. on rainy nights). I used to have to get a new visor every few months, but I've used nothing but Plexus to clean my AGV and the visor's still good after more than 3 years! It's also pretty good for cleaning the instrument panel and other plastic bits or to give the paint a quick buff-up.
I've found nothing that stops the visor fogging up when riding in fog though!

I wouldn't mind trying out one of those foggy respro gizmos my self but up untill now I wear by Bob Heath anti-fog spray to coat the inside of my visor. The only down side is that you have to keep re-applying it quite often and if it rains and the rain gets on the inside of the visor it can get all streaky. I've tried the visor inserts but I could never get them to sit right and found them distracting.
I use a foggy respro mask and love it to bits
You do need to make sure its touching your face all round its top edge but once you do you can sit at the lights, in the rain, with your visor down, breathing normally and it doesn't mist.
Seems that some people get on with them and others don't but I think that if you take the time and effort to get it fitted just right you can't beat it.
