Newish member + 2002 Storm (in Red)

Hi All. I've had a Storm since about March, so I thought I'd better sign up to this super forum. It's a 2002 model (digi dash etc) with 12000 miles up. Mods I have done so far are:

Goodrich front and rear brakelines. Fronts were a b8stard to route.
Double bubble screen (Powerbronze)
Airbox mod
Additional LED brakelights
Mirror extensions
Philips Motorvision orange tint H4 bulb
Hugger
Carbon Lorraine A3 pads (front)
Six 4mm holes in each of the stock cans end baffles. Great sound and didn't cost anything either! I'm sure the midrange is better.
And its in red of course. Fastest colour eh? :lol:

I reckon the sod's going to need a new chain soon. Always seem to adjust it! :cry:

I see you have already carried out some decent mod's 8) 8) 8)

You say you keep having to adjust the chain :!: How much play do you leave in it when you adjust it, as it could be you're tightening it up to much each time :!: I find keeping it slightly on the slack side it needs less adjusting :!:

Hi Chris. Yea, I know what you mean, but the trouble is that the tension is ok (30cm ish) on only part of the chain length. Somewhere else on the run it's up to 40+cm! On the Abba stand in gear, you can see it tighten up and then drop. I reckon it could well be shagged! Some of the links are a bit stiff too.

what air box mods you done? i had drilled holes in my standard cans before i sold em they did sound good.

Hi Mike,
I usually have the same as you, between 30mm and 40mm of play up and down. Bear in mind though the chain will tighten up once you sit on the bike :!: Seeing as some of the links are stiff I would say that your chain is not in it's best condition, so therefore a replacement may well be a very good idea :!:
