what does every one use... i've been using Castrol GPS, i felt the clutch was slipping last year so in the spring clean i changed the plates for a Surflex High Torque Friction Clutch Plate Kit from demon tweeks, and used the same GPS oil, which is meant to be semi-synth, but doesn't say it on the tin. i also kept the origional plates between the friction ones.

i never changed the springs as the blurb says to use the origionals, but this morning on the way to work for the first 300 yards up the road i was sitting at 5k revs and the clutch was slipping like a bast@@d, going about 10 mph, i've felt that untill the bike warms up that it was slipping badly b4, but this was murder.

i'm thinking of changing the springs for stronger ones in an attempt to force the plates harder together, and using different oil this time.

been looking at Putoline...they do a Sport4, semi-synth and also one called Formula V Twin, which they have designed for twin pots, but this one is a 20W/50.

i'm just lookin for opinions b4 i spend my cash.

Motul Fully Synth mate

Seen a thread recently on here re chaning springs for better after market ones but can't remember title of it. They were fairly cheap too.

I'm sure someone reading this will either know the springs and / or the thread I'm on about.

M&P and demon tweeks sell EBC springs for about £7.50, anyone know of anywhere that sell the steel plates, maybe mine are goosed. or could i just order standard ones from dave silvers.
i've been told that fully sinth wasn't good for wet clutches, to slippy with the extra additives...could be wrong, i think the honda dealer i took mine to for a service uses the GPS till 12k miles then changes to full synth and thats why i've stuck with it, but started having these slipping probs and just looking for options.

Ive always used semi synth since i bought the bike nearly 5 years ago and only because when i took it for its first service at Honda they said they only use semi now because of the related clutch slip with a number of customers.

Have you checked that the clutch pushrod is free, and also that it's not bent, and that the slave clutch cylinder piston is not sticking as any of those will cause the clutch to slip.

As for oil I have always used Semi-Synth with no clutch problems

I've done over a quarter of a million miles on the various bikes I've own so far and the vast majority of it using Silkolene Semi-synth.
I've never had clutch slip .....and I've certainly hammered a few

Check for air in the system as well as the push rod.
