Haynes Manual and CCT's

Post by sparrowlegs »

Anyone changed their CCT's by using the Haynes manual way?....The Hubbies Storm is suffering from the death rattle and i said i'd have a go at changing them for him..but all this talk of setting timing isn't mentioned in the Haynes manual.
I ve never dealt with setting timing but i could change the CCT's the way the Haynes says.
Yours totally confuzled.. Caz xxxxxxxxxxxxx

If you look at the Bike won't start thread, you can see that I am still trying to repair my bike after doing just that. I realised that the CCTs needed replacing, looked at the Haynes manual and like you, thought it seemed quite straightforward.

How I wish I had found this Forum first and had the benefit of Chris's link before starting the job! I don't think his process makes the job much more complex but speaking from bitter experience, it could save you a lot of pain.
