Need to remove my rearsets and was having a look at them last night. The question is do you have to take out the swingarm spindle completely to get one of them off??? If so is there any way to do this without the whole lot collapsing in a big heap
hmm no, I'm sure when I removed mine for a soit and polish that I just undid the nut under the cover abd the allen bolt into the engine case. Odviously you need to disconnect the gear shift rod and the rear brake pedal etc.
Barry,
If you check it out I'm sure you'll find one is a nut and the other is just a bolt head that looks very nut like
If not, then the previous owner was a smart cookie and you should be very pleased
Now you can remove either footpeg assy with equal ease
Steve,
Mike is spot on. Get a length od bar the same (or smaller) diameter as the spindle
Then use it to drive the spindle out
End result -the replacement bar means you can get both footpegs off without dropping the swingarm / propping the bike up etc
I've got an inferiority complex But its not a very good one!
