Aftermarket tachometer anyone?

Post by juni5 »

Just wonderin if anyone has switched out to one? Basically my question has to do with what to do with the stock wires or harness? The bike won't turn over without the stock cluster hooked up. So I was wondering if it's just a simple twisting and soldering of a couple of wires or is it more complex than that? If anyone has any experience with this your help would be most appreciated.

I'm streetfightering her out so I'm gonna run an acerbis front headlight. And was thinking about using this from trailtech..But I need to know how to bypass whatever wire is in that harness that makes the bugger not start. Please help :D

Seeing as you have a 2002 storm i would imagine it has somit to do with the HISS system in the ignition(wired thru the clocks??).....i am sure someone else will be along soon to shed more light on this.....VeetyR

No hiss system on my bike unfortunately..It's US spec...But I'm assuming the wiring to the gauges should be roughly the same...Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this...
