Does this look overpriced?

Post by Dadbob »

Nice bike but I'm not sure about the price.

2001 VTR Firestorm, red, 8,900 miles, £3,125, full service history - on Bike Trader from Full Throttle, near Leeds. http://www.fullthrottlemc.com

"5 Speed"??? Mine definitely had 6!! I would be worried about buying a bike from a company that hasn't even got its facts straight about the bikes they are selling. Plus there are no pics on the website. Makes em think that they aren't that interested in hitting the correct audience with their advertising... my take, but opinions are like arseholes!

Thats not too bad for a dealer price 01, good mileage and including VAT.

Go have a look at it properly (or take a friend who knows bikes - properly knows them, not just reckons too mind...)

Storm on Ebay - May interest you

Saw these on ebay. Alot cheaper than the dealer bike you mention. Might be worth considering.

Or this one below. The seller has a buy it now of £3,800 - You could put in a bid up to say £3K (probably won't reach his reserve) but then, if your the highest bidder you could try negotiating a better price after the auction ends.

Good luck

EXACTLY what i was about to say...ive heard that they are not the best company either, you may want to head over to bcf and do a search there! (http://www.bikechatforums.com).

If you got 3K to budget.....go private...pick one up for 2 to 2 and a half tops then spend the rest getting your suspension sorted. VeetyR

Come to think of it, look at all their bikes, they are all incorrectly advertised! My GSXR 1000 is obviously VERY special, cos it has got 6 gears too! According to this lot there aren't any bikes with 6 gears! Walk away from them, they look like cowboys :(

PS They only stock "top brands" of kit, like Kazimo and Roof. Sometimes i think how much better i could run a bike shop than some of these muppets. In fact, while i am on this topic it reminds me of the new bike shop in Letchworth, Herts. Can't remember the name but it has replaced the Collin Collins that was there. They have got rid of all the decent high class brands (albeit expensive) and replaced them with utter tat. It is your own choice what you wear but personally i am rather keen on my health hence i saved, and saved and bought the best kit available.

These people are preying on those new to biking who see a snazzy design and aren't interested in protection features. Lunacy!

Rant over

SUZUKI GSXR 649cc , 2001 Y Reg , Blue. END OF SEASON SALE. £3,245

Must have missed out on this limited edition GSXR650, must have been bored out by a previous owner!
