VTR1000F3 and catalytic converters

Post by Ian E »

Just purchased a VTR1000F3 and according to the owners manual it is fitted with catalytic converters. Does this restrict performance much? Where are the cats located? If they are within the end cans is it worth getting an earlier models cans?

Cheers,

Ian.

Ian you are in the UK correct? My NZ F3 hand book says somthing about the cat's aswell I can only exspect that they are in the bulge at the start of the can's as its the only place they could be :?
I dont know if the series 1 models have them but somthing I have noticed is the series 1's have 102Hp and the later series 2 have 110Hp so to answer your question on restriction I'd say not.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I am in in the UK. The owners manual says cats fitted, unleaded petrol only, etc. - unless I read a section for another country by mistake?

Cheers,

Ian.

Ian

If you have them same handbook as me check page 133 Catalytic Converter. Underneath it says (For IIG).
Turn to Welcome about 4 pages in and it shows that code IIG is German models only.

No need to worry about cats as I`m sure they`re not fitted :D
