Well, after riding her the 70 miles or so back down the A19 and A1 to home yesterday, I know a little more about her.
I know she'll not break any land speed records, but that's not what I want her for. She's the Winter hack and probably year round commuter that's going to save the VTR from nastiness and ever increasing miles when I'm not out enjoying her.
I imagine she'll cruise at 80-85 and probaly go to 95 or there abouts with maybe 1000 revs left to go (red line about 7,250).
NEVER having ventured above 70MPH I wouldn't know for sure!
She handles beautifully and is very smooth on the twisty stuff, although I ain't pushed her yet being unused to the ride position, bike etc.
She likes 'giving head' or at least likes getting her head up, if over cooking the throttle inadvertantly - FSMike territory!
Typically crap Honda screws are showing some signs of corrosion in places, and there's a patch of rust on the rear shock about the size of a 10p which will need rubbing down and treating with some clear laquer or similar soon, or the seal will be buggered - new Shock time!
This I believe is probably from a lack of use! that is to say I think she's been used, put in a shed or garage for a long period of time and sweated. Had the previous owner taken the time to dry her off once the temperature had stabilised and all condensation appeared, then the little corrosion there is would've been avoided.
Will have a close inspection of chain too - looks nice 'n' greasy but may be just on the surface if she's been left for ages with the chain un-lubricated.
But these are only minor things and easily remedied. Might invest in Stainless replacements from e-bay for the engine.
Time allowing this weekend I'm going to strip just about everything off her, panels, seat, tank, calipers etc etc, give her a good clean, and dry her off.
Then, blather everything in Wurth wax oil which comes highly recommended from a friend who trails / green lanes and rides through Winter.
Will pick up road grime salt etc but it won't penetrate (I'm told), can be jet washed without shifting and will only come off next 'Spring' with a good de-greaser like Gunk or Jizer
Probably spray the engine and 'Hot' surfaces with Silicone.
Did have a thought for the number plate ... 'My other bike's a Storm'
Any Stormers out there with Dommies past or present? If so what's your feelings?
Also anyone have any ideas for a small tailpack for the rack? It looks like Givi, or at least maybe Givi compatible. They all seemed to have them as standard, on the SLR as well.
Just looking for something waterproof obviously, not too big - not bothered about putting my lid in it. Maybe one that'll release relativey easily so I can take it with me when I stop, or go to work. put me sarny box 'n' stuff in.

Hiya Red, had a Dommie for about a year, traded it in for me Storm. Best thing I did & would reccomend was changing the tyres! When I bought it the rear was a very shagged MX tyre of some discription, that spun up at the slightest hint of damp & ratcheted around corners as the remaing tread blocks moved about! Think I put a set of Avon(?) Potenza's on & it transformed it.
Not sure about your quoted top speeds tho, the bike might do it but remmember your out in the wind blast! Take the silly hand protector things off if your doing A/M roads as well, they act like sails & set up a strange weave type effect.
Apart from the rock hard & very narrow seat which make distance rides the preverbiale pain in the butt, yep a good all round fun bike to hoon around on through the winter, enjoy.
Oh yeah, check the breaks, the calipers sieze, prob worth having them both stripped & cleaned before you start to use the bike all the time.
