exhaust repacking.....

Post by VeetyR »

Guys , I have recently purchased a set of 2nd hand micron cans for my storm.

Unfortunately i think they have been bashed in transit or somit as when on the bike the right hand can has what can only be described as a "rattle" coming from within it. A friend of mine reckons its just the air coming through but i am not convinced. Anyone else with microns have the same noise??

Its not too bad( more annoying than anything  ) and is more noticable when i blip the throttle.

My other question to you is how easy is it to repack cans?? and where do i get the packing from ??

as i think(hope) this may be all that is needed but am not sure. I dont really wanna have to make another can purchase.

Any info would be great...Thx VeetyR ( john'o )

this might sound stupid but have you tried taking the can off and giving it a little shake. Had a KLR once with a rattling zorst! Turned out to be tiny bits of baffle!

It may also be bits of carbon that shake loose and can't make it out of the end of the can!!!
