Thats actually a stroke of luck
Why? Coz an old sprocket ground down to the right thickness is the BEST thing to use as a spacer to get the chain run in line (ask Alan)
Also, on the same subject, have you given any thought to what you're gonna do with the sprocket cover? There's every possibility that it wont quite fit after spacing the sprocket out a bit (Alan had my spare spacer plate and still owes me "a gallon of Stella")
I'm toying with the idea of butchering a standard one (Sprocket on ebay) to make something like this
I've got an inferiority complex But its not a very good one!
1. Remove the sleeve, cut down the far end plate (the one nearer the engine) and refit the sleeve. This would leave the cans largely unchanged but give that vital extra inch that everyone is looking for (according to the 25 emails a day I get! )
2. Mount the exhausts outside the subframe but half under the rear plastics (R1 style). NB would require cutting the plastics but I think I'm right in thinnking you've got a spare set anyway?
If 1. is a viable alternative, I'd suggest speaking to Wayne at JAC exhausts. Used to work for Art, is a good friend of Daz (Stormsmasher) and has done some awesome work for people on this forum and the VTR list

No Idea... not as many as you'd think. It's not a difficult conversion as long as you have all the bits, and a mate who's done it before.
It's not that expensive to do either, theres been a few VFR arms for sale lately.
looks like theres quite a lot of work involved in routing the pipes and getting the cans to sit flush! they look SO much better when shortened though!
as for the expensive, im sure its quite good if you know somebody as most of the parts are interchangeable? correct me if im wrong?

looks great mike, and u kept the pillion pegs too which is a touch. Bet it sounds fantastic.
Only thing that looks a bit iffyin my eye( now please dont take offence mate )....is the Master cylinder for the rear brake is V/close to the up/pipe( real word??).... Will it not get rather hot there and will it affect the performance of the brake itself?
I hate being objective against peeps mods as it can hurt feelings etc. I Dont mean to if i have but i would want to be asking that Q if it were my bike. Thats all. john'o
Looking v nice mate, hope to see it in the flesh at some point. Get a real feel for the mods.
