will the wiring,generato and switch be alright with a 100/80 watt headlight bulb or am i going to run into problems?

That's what I'm using, got it from halfrauds for less than a tenner n I've had no problems in the 3 months I've been using it.

got mine from halfrauds too,cost me £4.16.just wanted to make sure before i fit the bulb as i dont want to fry the electrics

It should probably be fitted with a relay n new wiring but I didn't bother and it's been fine.

Not yet, I'm actually thinking of heading off the HID direction very soon though, more than likely from HIDS4U http://www.hids4u.co.uk/product_details.asp?id=213
if you have a quick search on google you can find a promotional code that knocks the price down a few quid 8)

Thanks for the info :!: My personal experience in brighter lights is you can go too far. I fitted four spotlights to my mk2 escort many years ago. Two of those spots I fitted 100 watt bulbs in each, it was like driving in daylight, but every fluorescent road sign I came across the light bounced back into my face. Also on our country lanes you didn't see a vehicle coming in the opposite direction until it was right on you, by which time you'd blinded them :!:

Admittedly the standard Firestorm headlight is rather poor by todays standards, and imo they do need up grading :!:

I would have thought though, that your 100/80 watt headlight bulb gives quite a good light.
