Are you sure yours does not have the bigger tank! I do not think I could get £16 of petrol in mine. £14.50 is a full tank (reserve light on)

and roughly how much a litre did you pay for your petrol Lee?
If it was about 98p That would give you 49.49 miles to the gallon. It's good but not unheard of.

So, was the £7 put in when you got home?

If not (assuming you started with a full tank) you rode around using £9 worth, rode around some more then put £7 worth in and THEN you rode home, using an amount you will discover by filling it one more time.

(or am I missing something :? )

I can vouch for Lee. It does return good mpg if you ride it right. Thats what a good stage one set up and dyno run does for you 8)

Oh, and I should know. It was my bike

Have the VTR in the garage at the moment (need to raise some cash for tax and insurance!!!!).

Riding my Royal Enfield 500 'fun bike' instead at the moment. Get over two hundred miles from the tank, and was shocked as had to put five quids worth of fuel in the other day at 101.9p per litre! 'Only' doing about 75-79 to the old fashioned gallon. Still at this rate of sipping fuel it doesn't matter too much!!!

Using my Storm as a battering ram to force through traffic every morning, I'm lucky if I get a week to a tank. Approx 20 miles per day, 5 days per week - I reckon I'm getting just under 100 miles to a tank, mostly low-speed city traffic with a few fast overtakes once out on the open roads... Was a bit of a shock coming from an oil-cooled GSXR 750 :o

Sometimes I feel like I'm doing the environment a favour by leaving the bike at home and taking my 2.9 Granada to work instead... Tis a heavy old bus, but the heated seats make it worthwhile this time of year :D

If your up and down the box in town/commuting up and down I think thats the best to expect.

I found that if you go for a decent run and used the throttle/gearbox smoothly an easy 110 miles was acheivable.

Depends if you like to here it sing I suppose
