Hiya mate,

Welome to the Forum.

I get over to Big D's from time to time - usually on a Tuesday when I go, or if I'm out that way and fancy a coffee.

Lot o' Bridge Rats seem to be using it as a meeting place on Tuesdays rather than the 'official' top o' the hill spot now they're no longer at the Bridge Inn.

Post in Sunday Runs, Scratching, Track days ,Rallys, Events when you're going - I'm sure if I can get over I will as will any other 'locals'

There's a lot on here get to Rivington on a Sunday and some regulars up at Devils Bridge, as well as Squires as Mike has already mentioned.

Personally I avoid the Bridge - (certainly the A65) too many Richard'eds on road and Police watching for 'em. If I go out that way tend to stick to the side roads - much more fun.

This time of year more likely to see me on me (Red - fastest colour!) Dominator now I got her - trying to keep mileage down on Storm and avoid nasty salt 'n' sh1t through Winter.

Cheers,

Graeme.

Hi mate,

Yes R6 / R1 R/R do fit after a fashion - see the link below

Reg/Rectifier Mod

Soz to hear about the bearings - I would imagine you'll be able to source them cheaper from a bearings place like Pennine Bearings etc rather than Honda dealer or Dave Silvers.

Cheers,

Graeme.

Cheers Graeme.you wont believe how hard it was to get them pesky needle bearings out, they wernt gonna shift with the old vice and socket trick! ended up putting them under a 500tonne press,2 tons shifted them,i guess the moral of the story is to check them, more than once every ten years. Was wondering about the finned R+r, i was looking at the later one off a 2001 storm, which is finned, that was the one i was wondering if fitted. If you ever use the "tops " road to Burnley, past the windmills,be careful of diesel, especially coming out of Hebden to slack top, stopped using this road,to get to big "ds",anyway keep the faith, keep thundering on. Rick. :D

Hi sparrowlegs, its not to bad at big Dees, worth the effort, quite a bit of memorabilia on the walls, and a nice old triumph in a glass case on the back wall, you cant miss it theres a giant "Alien stood on a car outside.Only been to Squires once,s"pose its the same sort of thing,as for devils bridge,i think its a bit overated now .Stopped going there years ago, when 2 strokes ruled, used to take the road over from Lancaster, then head towards Glasson dock, then to Knott end,now thats pretty cool, anybody go there? :D

Hi Rick,

Knot End - Top side of Fleetwood?

I've only been there twice - but Knot on a bike (pardon the pun!) - went to do boat handling course with diving club, blasting about in RIBs all day.
I did notice though that there were a lot of bikes at or around the cafe and a few 'items for sale' cards on board.

Not sure of the roads (good stuff) round there, just used the Mways and major A's to get there and back.

Be up for a run there sometime though from a convenient meeting place, it'd make a change to go West rather than East seeing as I'm in the middle here. Maybe pick up Rivvy on the way back - only been there once, on some Very nice B roads.

Graeme.

Hi graeme, yeah up for that, you have to try the "back road from Lancaster" theres a nice stretch over the marshes, where you can really give it some! Although i got busted there once, couple of coppers in an unmarked subaru.I didnt notice till i saw his fluoro jacket on the parcel shelf, tried to do me for dangerous riding, but got me for the black visor,Wednesday night is chocka, good crack. When iget the bike sorted, will be in touch, off to work now,got a few foreigners to do ,the list is never ending.Cheers mate RICK.:D
