Bob, how does the flat bar conversion affect the rear view from the mirrors

not as good as when clip ons fitted..but manageble, just move your elbows in for a good view...

not a lot of differance, i had to move my arm in with clip ons, i did buy some R1 mirrors but they've ended up on a project somewhere in stockton

Thanks Bob and Lee for your quick replies

I know the Storm's mirrors are perhaps not the best at standard

I tried R1 mirrors but I couldn't get on with them myself. I think it was something to do with them being closer to me on the bike, I just couldn't seem to gel with them

have been toying with idea of fitting renthals like bob and phil...tried em, felt ok (weird going back to sat bolt upright)..but i can see the benefits, esp now im 40

..and they do look nice..but at the mo, im managing fine with the blade forks and spondon clip ons

I guess it depends on how high the risers are. Did the Renthals mod on my Storm with about 3 inch risers and had to take a lot off the fairing.

It was a good mod though and made the bike much more rideable.

not sure on height of ones bob uses, but there set back, so no fairing modding required

I tried having my bars higher, but I found it affected the handling. I think it must have been down to having less weight over the front end. It probably varies from rider to rider, body weight, how your suspenders are set up and if you're running the standard forks or something different. But for me, it just didn't go around corners as well as it does with the standard clip-on handlebar set-up. Well almost standard, my bike is the earlier version but I have the later black bars fitted

PS. Any of you guys with the flat bar conversion noticed the bike not handling so well as it did with the standard bars

hahahaha pmsl.....im used to the storm now mike, never had any trouble on tl....twas always other way round...come over to my back garden, peaks..and lets see who can keep up....ask bob
