Using my Storm as a battering ram to force through traffic every morning, I'm lucky if I get a week to a tank. Approx 20 miles per day, 5 days per week - I reckon I'm getting just under 100 miles to a tank, mostly low-speed city traffic with a few fast overtakes once out on the open roads... Was a bit of a shock coming from an oil-cooled GSXR 750 :o

Sometimes I feel like I'm doing the environment a favour by leaving the bike at home and taking my 2.9 Granada to work instead... Tis a heavy old bus, but the heated seats make it worthwhile this time of year :D

If your up and down the box in town/commuting up and down I think thats the best to expect.

I found that if you go for a decent run and used the throttle/gearbox smoothly an easy 110 miles was acheivable.

Depends if you like to here it sing I suppose

Wow, on the commute to work (a mixture of town, motorway and dual carriageway) last week, I got 72 miles before the RLOD. The most I've ever got was 95 miles before RLOD on motorways in France, averaging around about 90mph - she did 107 miles before I could find a petrol station, and I was shi...very worried indeed. I suppose I do tend to cane it, though - no matter how much I think I'll pootle to work, I always end up bouncing off the red line in second and third (and why not?), and just love the rush of torque at around 7,000 rpm.

I've been thinking of taking mine off the road for winter and basically stirpping her down and making her better. She's done 37,000 miles, 29,000 of which I've put on her and as far as I know, she's still on her original CCTs (!). She's now starting to use a bit of oil, which she's never done before, so I'll take that as a sign that she needs a bit of TLC. I think new CCTs and valve shims for starters and new filter, probably K&N, but I may go for something else as I sure I read there's another performance filter that will raise mpg.

Anyway, if the weather today is a taste of the winter to come, I may as well take her off the road until May...
