carb icing??

anyone know if storms suffer this??? .....when i left home this morn it was -1 degrees C ...... bike started ok but for the first 20 mins of my ride it felt like it was running out of petrol......u know that dragging feeling u get.....conked out a couple of times at the lights and was tickin over at about 800rpm :? ..... After a while it stopped ticked over normally and gave me no more jip.......is this carb icing i am suffering with??

I don't think so John'O.
The rads pipe hot coolant through the carbs so it's unlikely. Mine always used to be a bit of a pig in really cold weather. I think it has more to do with all that Icy air going down those rather large inlets.
I did find that Harley Idle Boost cured it though.

mine gets it like an absolute b8stard

even though the carbs are supposed to be heated, the throats dont seem to be. its got so bad, im considering a de icer injector system :D

hmm that might be a tad difficult :D

fuel map etc might be needed for starters.....

a nip of silkolene pro fst in every full tank, stops any probs... :wink:

As lee mentioned addictive in the tank will work.
Mine plays up occasionly until it warms up.
