Gearing change & speedo????

Post by Pete »

Hi all,

I'm thinking of going up a couple of teeth on the back sprocket of my vtr but I'm concerned about the effects this will have on the accuracy of my speedo. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Cheers Al :)

Is there no way of re-calibrating the speedo for the change in gearing though?

I am thinking of going down a cog on the front sprocket, but too am concerned about the speedo overreading.

I've heard that there is a plug in device that will alter the speedo readings to compensate, problem is I've no idea where to get it.

Has anyone ever head of such a corrector?

Try fwr in London (http://www.fwr.co.uk ... I think)
You need a `yellow box` which I think costs aroun £80 which you can then use to rectify your speedo and mileage.
.... no more bike, divorce sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pete,

There is a crowd over here that do the calibration and adjustment of the spedo, the sticker is stuck to the back of my one. I'll whip it off tomorrow evening and get the name for you. They might be able to do something for you.

Storm speedo white on black is almost impossible to read for me so a Sigma was the best way forward. Now can control speed very accurately I CAN SEE THE NUMBERS 8O
