Fuel Economy.

Post by Kitch »

Think I might have an issue.

Lately, I've been only getting 25 mpg.

Chokes not been left on, not particularly thrashing it.

It is jetted, has race cans and a K&N filter.

Any ideas? Just the cold? (though I dont recall it being any worse in winter last year)

is it jetted with dynojet cos they've had problems with neddles eating into the jets & making em run rich, or you could just put more than a fiver in,,, fuels gone up

What colour are your plugs?
Are they a dark brown or sooty black?
If they are I would get the fuel mixture re checked. If they are any shade of light brown/tan I wouldn't worry about fueling and I would look for a leak.
Can Pups like yourself see in colour???

Yeah, I see in B&W, so its an issue.

I think it is running very rich and is gonna need redoing.

I'd look at the plugs, but its cold out there.

Have exactly the same problem Kitch on both of mine.
Ones been dyno jetted and has k&n filter with race cans and the other only has race cans.
I just put it down to all the town use and the high price of petrol and still only putting in about 10 notes worth. :)
