Rear damper rebound settings as a starting point

Post by LotusSevenMan »

OK, having read the sticky that RedStormV put up and clicked the links etc there is a whole list of desired starting points for various makes of bikes.
My '97 VTR etc comes out with (and it's the rear I'm interested in.......... ooh err)
REAR PRELOAD - number 3. OK & understood where the spring goes.
REAR REBOUND DAMPING - .5 TURNS OUT.

Now is that .5 from the softest or hardest? Other Hondas on the list have it stated in full that their settings are say 1 turn out from the hardest so I'm left not sure which this .5 refers to. Have to say that 0.5 turns from hardest feels nearly bl%dy solid to my ar$e. The bike skipped a lot at that figure and pushed wide.................
So ???
Thanks in advance.
