Crap...I done did it.

Post by Swifty »

Well well well...Think I pulled the ooops of a slight "dumb-ass" variety:

Went to charge the ol' battery in the garage and my blind ass in 20% light or something really dark...reversed the clamps and went positive to negative terminal and sparks go flying and bike has no power. Try to turn the key for headlight maybe to come on...no prevail. Dead bike. Previously there was enough juice for a headlamp to come on but not anymore. Now the battery is out of the bike and fully charged... Checked the fuses and none are blown out. Not sure about the 30A black one but still no power!!! What did I do to this bike!? possible wire damage? Where would that be?! I'm stuck...and pissed!! :x :x

Thanks guys/gals...

Ooooooh no! Now with my Guzzi experance this is not good. There is every chance that you've fried the computer  This part is usualy what cooks first.
With the Guzzi computer controled bikes you don't even want a loose earth cable on the battary or anywere for that matter thats why we run extra earths, cos if you know what a MG vibrates like then you'd understand.
So I hope I'm wrong and you are back on the road soon
cheers Darryl

Don't panic just yet - the main fuse is usually the first thing to go, so check that before you start buying electronics. :)
