I fitted them and as long as you follow all instructions (re TDC etc) clearly, then you won't have to re-time the valves either.

The rear is easy as you can get the cam cover off (which you have to do to get the right tension)

The front is more tricky as it is not as accessible, but I found that by taking the carbs off too I could get to the bolts from the top. As long as you don't fiddle with them you can just replace them abd they won't need rebalancing or anything.

A methodical and fairly simple job - DON'T overtighten the cam cover pillar bolts. Some idiot I know  sheared on off, but luckily on the rear cylinder so he could drill and ezeeout the stud. Why they are called ezeeouts is beyond me, because it never is!
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

IMHO Timbo if you're not that mechanically minded (your words not mine  ) I would suggest you get someone to fit them for you :!:

I would recommend Roger Ditchfield at Revolution Racing :!: He fit's them and know's exactly how to set them to the correct tension :!:

The Haynes Manual actually shows you where the timing marks should be and what the cam lobes should look like, but I agree with Chris, if you arn't confident, better get an expert in as it could be cheaper eventually!

And thanks for the suggestion for Lancaster, not too far at all really, only 45 miles or so, so if he will do it while i wait, sorted. Especially as my local dealer is a pile of toss.
You could always give him a ring Timbo to see how busy he is, and ask him for a price :!:

Oops I missed that 'TDC'

Toby (Squiffythewombat) is right, TDC = Top Dead Center

Timbo, you've been on here long enough to know Rogers reputation. He might be further away but I'll bet you'll get more for your money.
