Valentino Rossi was secretly photographed trying out for the Italian track and field squad in a shock move to athletics for 2012.

Exclusive pictures show the 5 times MotoGP champion perfecting the triple jump. Professional triple jumper Lorenzo Leapifari praised Rossi's technique:

"The hop is strong, good height. His stride is long and powerful and his landing is secure. He still only just beat his bike though."
