Fancy coming round and giving my bike a clean your is spotless
Thought I’d spotted a bit of dirt
But on closer inspection it's was an ant with a surgical mask on

I'll pass on your kind invitation to come around and clean your bike if you don't mind
The bit about the
ant with a surgical mask on made me crack up
That back end strip down was done to grease all the swingarm and linkage bearings, fit that Maxton spring and to polish up the header pipes, although the headers didn't stay shiny like that for very long. The link below covers what I did. That was 18mths ago

I wasn't meaning that his spring isn't a Maxton item, just that the design is more like the original.
Ahhhh, sorry mate, read it wrong.
Wont the spring being rusty affect the spring rate as part of the rate calculation is based on the surface area, is it not?
I don't think the rust is a little more than surface rust, going by the picture. So no I don't think it will be affecting the spring rate. If the rust had really eaten into the metal then that would be different. I expect a bit of a rub down with some wet and dry and some new paint will have it looking like new
Chris.
