Winter Gloves.

Went out yesterday with my mate on his Gixxer. Roads were mostly dry but with lots of white lincolnshire top salt

Did about 70 miles and discovered some great roads V twisty with short straights (to try and keep my licence) but my bloody hands were like blocks of ice.
So.........getting to the point........can anyone recommend some good winter gloves, hopefully some of you commuters out there will have tried and tested most that are currently available and being a tight Yorkie git I want to splash out once only

Personally i find winter gloves very restrictive so i use some slightly more heavy duty summer gloves and wear silk gloves underneath.

They are ultra cheap, can be worn under almost any glove and keep you warm. I could explain the science behind it but it would be pointless!

I miss my old heated grips....wish i taken them off the TRX when i sold it...thin summer gloves in winter...can't beat the heat.

Well I went out with the Royal Enfield yesterday (my only taxed
, mot'd and insured bike! at present) and had the new silk glove liners + my Lidls motorcycling gloves. The inner layer of silk appears to trap warm air like a wet suit does for divers. Worked well and I had nice warm hands. I have to admit that on the FireStorm I have heated grips (the R.E. electrics being inadequate for such luxuries).
These are really good and only lose some of the heat if you are constantly braking or using the clutch lever as the cold gets to the grip when your hand is 'open' and whips it away. Still very worth the outlay of 25ukp inc postage off of eBay.

Heated grips are the mutts nuts -even better combined with motorcross style hand guards to keep the wind blast off

Other than that the Hein Gericke Pathans are really good
Really flexible and supple, not bulky and stiff like conventional winter gloves
100% waterproof

The only downside is you cant signal your displeasure at other motorists properly

theyre great i 've had a pair of these for ages!!

especially good for saluting too!!

Some top tips all round, have heard the heated grips tend to miss the backs of fingers and the heat is mainly in the plam.
might give the Mork and Mindy gloves a shot I reckon.

Bloomin went for too much money in my opinion. Â£12 plus 3 quid postage (used) I was willing to pay up to Â£13 inc of postage as used could mean well bloody used. Oh well, will prob by new next time in Lincoln.

I just looked them up to see how much they are. This item is 39.95UKP new from HG!!!!!!!
