Hello people.
just about to buy a speedo healer to correct after the sprocket change and was also thinkin about fitting a gear indicator. I have done a couple of searches, etc but nothing to be gained, so thought id ask how these interface with each other ? do you fit the datatool indicator to the original sensors then the healer after that to correct the signals into a more accurate speedo reading ?
Anybody fitted both these specific products together on a storm (mine is a 97 FV) ?
There is a new version just lauched that has 2 gear setting stored 1 for raod and one for track sprockets, seems clever ..

PS i know some folks dont agree with the gear indicator, re safety etc, but im of the opinion that it prevents me from trying to change up when already in top, which was a bit scary the last time and not good for the clutch etc.. ( my pennies worth for the debate)

fitting datatool gear indicator and speedo healer
i fitted a gear indicator, can't remember if it was a datatool or digigear or something else....you just need to open the bundle of wires behind the clocks, strip back the sheathing on the right cables and solder in the ends, then wrap everything back up again.
there are about half a dozen cables to do this with, the suplied instructions are clear but if like me your colour blind then get someone to help...
as there are cables with different colour stripes and single colour ones that need to be spliced.
after this you follow the instructions and program it...job done.
i've not done the speedo healer but some one who has should be along soon.

Speedohealer is laughably easy.
Behind the tank, under the seat is a boot with some plugs and wires in.
Plug the Speedohealer into that.
Use SH's website to figure out your specific switches setup for the SH itself.

I had trouble getting my Acumen gear indicator to indicate the right gear when setting it up on the paddock stand. The trick is to hold the bike at 2,500 rpm in each gear. The instructions don't tell you this.
I only found out by phoning the factory and speaking to the technical department...

well if you want to do it WITHOUT wiring things to clocks etc im pretty sure they used to make an indicator that runs this weird magnet thing round the wheels a bit like a pedal bike speedo. It was more expensive at the time but obviously much more easy to fit...i did try and find them to link you here but loads came up and i couldnt find one.

this is pretty cheap and new! Says in the auction u can buy the manual drive upgrade kit for £39. You would have to check with the seller but i assume that this is the magnet thing! (it might just be a worm drive type plug not sure)
