oberon mini indicators

Post by chaz »

got to fit some new mini indicators from oberon, nice looking and led but need resistor in circuit . trouble is they are flashing around 180/min not 60-120 as per MOT due, anyone had experience with these? if so how do I get the flash rate lower , Ive seen people fit new relays but the instructions and web site dont mention these..

Nice looking indicators, look high quality and I want some now! I am not a lecky by trade so I wont even comment on the flash rate issue.

You can cheat and just put a bulb in line in the wiring.

Go to Hein Gericke. Get two inline resistors (check the wattage- 10W or 21W?)....a few quid each. Plug them into the loom, plug the indicators into the resistors. Hey presto!

sorry, wasnt too clear. Ive fitted the supplied resisitors as per their diagram, still flash at 180/min, you have to wire live in/out to one side and earth in/out to the other , so in effect a continual line for both but the resistor bridges live and earth!
only differences are if you fit resistor in live in line they flash slower but are very dim.
quickest way looks like fitting a bulb , will try that or have to get a new relay , surprised they dont say that on the web site!!

That's what I did and would recommend. As Mike says just "plug in, job done" No messing about with soldering this and that.

Make sure you get the Honda item if you go down this route
