how many times have you heard this one?

Post by chuxsta »

i have had a search and a trawl through the posts while waiting for my registration to the forums to be activated and found some really useful stuff already, but there are a few answers i couldnt find..

first i was glad to see there are actually people who have managed to customise their storms with out chopping them up and keeping their natural form.
i love to customise every bike i own, never been a fan of the stock look of any bike.
this was my first proper go at it.. was one of the first 600 hornets in the UK to have 2x hi lv cans.. there were pics of her at the motorbike show on the MIVV stand.. these pics were still work in progress as it got knicked before i got chance to finish her.

any way,,,,
i did the ususal searches for the powerbronze skidmarx sites for aftermarket body works and was sad to see the lack of stuff about for the storm.

so first question is there any useful sites that still make or have in stock plastics for the storm...
like the belly pan and side panels on this bike.

also the age old question of cans...
again this is a mine field.
i want hi level slip ons that dont require removal of the pillion pegs,
and pref a removable baffle but thats not essential.
have seen a few in pics but cant make out what cans tehy are..

thanks for that.. yeah i thought there must be some sort of mod for the pegs cause on some pics they have spacers on the peg bolts and others they look like they havent been modded...

i very rarely take any one on the back so its not a major issue but i like to have the option to.. nothing better than meeting a fine lady who has always wanted to go on a bike,,
and as there is no grab rail i will have to teach her the reach around.. :D

Your Hornet was looking really good imo :!: 8)

As for aftermarket bellypans etc have a look here, not exactly what you mentioned, but may be of use:-

correction the one they have on as an example belly pan isnt the same as the storm one... the storm one is more a bottom peace faring..
but might look good when i take off the top half and just have a belly pan..

Hi mate
got a skidmarx pan on mine ( ithink 8O ) ,happy with it cost about £70 (generic colour matched, which is pretty close) from m&p stand at NEC show a couple of years back. But IMO the pyramid bellypan looks best, but at £165 coloured,is tad dearer 8O .NWS also do a nice one but think that was more expensive, but NICE 8) 8)
Cheers

There are tons of choices for belly pan , take a peek at Sharkskinz,Pyramid and Powerbronze, for cans I had some made at A16 road and race. Usually the hi level link pipes come with spacers to adapt rear pegs if required. I will post a picture of mine with cans and Sharkskinz once I have finished fettling.
