Firestorm newbie

Post by Firemonkey »

I sold my 2004 CBR600RR on Tuesday and picked up my 2002 Firestorm in blue yesterday :)

It's my first firestorm and actually feels quite wierd to actually own one as it was the bike I lusted after when I first became interested in bikes back in 1998.

With my insurance pending on the RR and the need to tighten the purse strings a little I was looking for a bike that I could buy and insure for 12 months for what I sold my RR for. I found this lovely 2002 model on autotrader, did the deal, insured it, taxed it and still have money left over for some nice little additions.

So far I prefer it to the SP2 that I owned in 2006/2007, something about the way the carbed engine delivers it's power seems more involving than the SP2s fuel injection. I love it :)

It already has APE manual CCTs on it which seems to be a real bonus having read up on here a little. It has an LSL flat-bar conversion and renthals that I will be removing and selling as I prefer the original clip-on position. I will be using the bike for nice evenings, weekends and the odd trackday and look forward to embarassing some of my friends with their fancy 1000cc inline-fours haha
